There used to be a huge public restroom in the Howard Street rail viaduct for both men and women. Even had showers and city attendants. Hot water was supplied by the Steam Plant. If you walk under there you can still see the larger double doors on both sides.

The multiple references to "human feces" on sidewalks is true. But what also is true is the lack of public facilities where you can take a shit. I had to go really bad one time near the Paulsen Building and walked around clenching unable to find an open bathroom.

Hosted a family affair this evening as a send-off for my mother. She's leaving for Texas to spend her final days in assisted living. The place is less than a mile from my sister's spit in Houston. The cost drove her decision. The price is 3x higher here in WA. I held it together. But I'm gutted.
