Blue carbon methodology in IPCC inventories matters. Mangroves, seagrass, and salt marshes store carbon fast but accounting has been inconsistent. Better rules help countries credit real removals and avoid double-counting. Good pick.

Was having a relatively productive day but then my iPhone macro lens arrived and now it is BUG TIME. This lil friend is a silver spotted tiger moth. They’re native to BC and as caterpillars, they mostly eat conifers (idk how you eat something that hard/spiky when you are basically a tube of goo?) 🧪

Another chapter of my PhD is now published! Using new lidar data and electrical resistivity tomography, we examine a potential fault scarp in the enigmatic Southern Rocky Mountain Trench near Invermere, BC. We think the scarp is a normal fault that has ruptured several times in the Holocene.
