We broke ground Monday on the East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Project! The 6.7-mile light rail line will serve 11 stations on Van Nuys Blvd between the G Line in Van Nuys, Panorama City, Arleta and San Fernando Road in Pacoima. (more)

One thing you learn from reading the academic literature on parental estrangement is that it's rarely *just* about events from childhood. Most adults are willing to reconcile with their problematic parents as long as they can acknowledge their mistakes and own up to them. A lot of them refuse.

Do you appreciate that fire or police respond if you call? Do you enjoy driving on the streets where you live? Perhaps they have snowplows where you live? People who keep the water clean and sewers working? Animal shelter? The list is quite long, actually. You bought your house, not eternal service.
