So, advice for potential PhD students re emailing potential supervisors to connect with them. 1) Do not use AI. Like seriously, don't. It's a Dunning-Kruger issue ... your email might look good to you, but for those of us in our fields AND getting a million of these, the generic language is OBVIOUS

Thank you so much to @newscientist.com Live for the opportunty to talk about AI consciousness (& how we really, really don't have a good way of testing for it)! Headlines & scientists saying "OMG it might be conscious, 5% chance" are sensationalism BS. Based on what? Vibes? Not good enough for me.
