Ah, I don't think everyone that disagrees with me is a bigot! Why, there's also bribery by corporations, and maintaining a corrupt campaign industry based in D.C. BIgotry, corruption, fraud - why, I have a long list of the motivations of those who disagree with me! I don't want to be smallminded.

The great "paradox" in U.S. politics is why, if that agenda is so popular, is it impossible to advance it in the Congress? The answer, of course, is that in our system, monied interests control political outcomes, money primaries precede and determine who runs in primaries voters get to vote on.

The terror spreading across the country this a.m. because in some more progressive corners of the US progressives won elections is telling. The reason the reaction is so over-large is because progressives unlike centrists and the right, are the only group who pose a real threat to established power.
