Evening light by Bassenthwaite Lake. Twice I heard the ‘plop’ sound as something jumped back into the water. This is said to be a sign that water voles are present.

A warm and breezy night last night staying at around 14c produced some good moths in my mid Cheshire garden. White-speck, Barred Sallow, Feathered Thorn and Juniper Carpet were four that were either new or new for the year for me. #teammoth #mothsmatter
