Adding here for context: MPR was the only news source that didn’t use that framing in its own coverage, and instead used “Somali gangs” and related terms in quotes to show it as a political narrative the Somali community has challenged .

Remember this tweet? This is Roper from the Strib. He had already written his column on car window smashing when he met with us (at our request hours before his deadline). He’s just written another column bashing me for, among other things, being “academic” and he still doesn’t understand the data.
