I just heard about Andy Kershaw. Terribly sad news. I met him once backstage at the Reading festival. A genuinely lovely bloke. His passion for music was infectious. I was getting into alt country at the time and he turned me on to Gram Parsons. RIP Andy and thanks youtu.be/4r-VwSRzXbk?...

RIP Andy Kershaw, longtime champion of #HMHB, who he called 'the most authentic British folk band since The Clash' . Pictured with the band in his garden, when they recorded a Kitchen Session for his podcast. (Thanks to John Burscough via FB, who took the photo.)

As a teenager in the 80's, Andy Kershaw was a must watch & listen to. His knowledge & enthusiasm of music was huge, and he had a lovely presenting style. I'm very sad he's left us. RIP Sir. Thank you for the magic.

Sad to hear Andy Kershaw has died. When I was starting out he was v kind to me .I remember the buzz of being invited to one of his parties, where he cooked a big pot of veg chilli & the Bhundu Boys started playing ! He introduced a generation to music from all over the world. That's a great legacy ❤️
