The Rays & the Brewers will be meeting in the World Series with a combined payroll of $232 million vs. the Dodgers' payroll of $412 million. But we may not have any baseball next year because MLB owners are insisting on a salary cap.

If payrolls determined wins, the Rays, with a $90 million payroll, wouldn't have been the AL's best team this year & wouldn't be in the World Series with a payroll less than 1/4th of the Dodgers'. The disparity may actually have made the Rays what they are bc they figured out a Moneyball way to win.
