If you want to keep something secret, share it with as few people as possible (need to know). You compartmentalize information to reduce risk of compromise. It’s impossible to organize a *mass movement* that way, though. So you have to accept a certain amount of risk.

The ride alongs are actually fairly brilliant. They show that the people who are out there are ordinary people you might meet at a neighborhood block party, not a handful of violent revolutionaries. They are sympathetic. They are a movement you can *join* because they are like you.

Okay final thought on the opsec thing: Everyone has their own risk appetite. But if your risk appetite is too low to include “being anonymously in the same chat room as someone who is talking to a member of the press” you should probably not be doing ICE rapid response. That is too low.
