In the UK, a grain crop gives about £2,000 per hectare per year. A hectare of solar panels gives about £40,000. If we changed planning law so that any farmer could install up to 2 ha. plus batteries without permission we'd fix both the agricultural industry and the need for renewables in one stroke.
