They're in the same category of "HEARTWARMING: This 4th grader raised enough money for the poor children in his class to pay for lunch for the year." Good on the kid, but that's a broken system, that won't scale, and he shouldn't have to even think of it. That story's a tragedy, not human interest.

I always have mixed feelings about these images. Yes, it's inspiring to see these college students committed to democracy, but the fact that they have to do anything remotely difficult to exercise their voting rights is enraging. Taking part in a democracy should be as easy as possible.
