It's so typical for parents of millenials to be completely blind to how their parenting affected their kids. They 'did their best' and it's outrageous that their kids would be so selfish as to have unresolved trauma when they weren't physically abusive (also what they did shouldn't count)

As a millennial who still talks to my parents, there are things I'm still psychologically incapable of talking about with them. Trauma response kicks in and I lock up. (The fact I have trauma is one of the things I can't talk about.) Going through something like losing a job makes it even worse.
