the second part is the biggest key, I think - the bargain has always been “your life is mostly fine and all my awful behavior makes the libs mad” well their lives are less fine now and the behavior is even worse

i suspect that trump himself doesn’t even know how many people are paying him at this point, nor does he know how many middlemen are skimming from it, and surfacing the latter is going to be what causes the real fireworks in the next term
