When I was 23, the house I lived in burned to the ground. I was asleep, and got out with nothing but my pjs and my roommate’s dog. When you lose your house it is not about the sofa or tv. It’s the concert t-shirt you bought with your best friend, and the last letter your grandfather wrote you.

I don’t remember when or why we visited the Texas Alamo, but I like this picture of my Dad and me in the late 80’s, I think. We were fishing buddies; not necessarily history buffs. Oh, and he was a Democrat, so you know I had a good dad.
