10 years ago, I had to spend all my energy explaining why I was using psychoanalysis to study representations of AI, and now I feel like I have to spend all my energy explaining why we should study AI in the humanities at all. The “AI is an evil plagiarism machine” rhetoric has destroyed our brains.

I actually don't mind that people want to have control of their data. I do mind that they are ignorant reactionary humanists with a knee-jerk hatred of technology who call themselves progressive. We could both get what we want, if they would simply keep their data to themselves
