I'm sure that's true; but most will be shortish links from main to house, long lined with limescale. I'm equally sure it doesn't diminish the size of the leak, debt and bonus scandals.

For most people, that would be a reasonable negotiation if it happened at the start: "I'd still like to go in a couple times a week, for the social aspect." But then if your wife finds out you've been lying all that time, she's gonna be mad, and that's on you.
