On Tuesday it will be the fiftieth anniversary of what is probably my favourite sitcom episode of all time: the final episode of The Fall & Rise of Reginald Perrin's first series. Unusually for a 70s sitcom, it's quite thoughtful, delightful, sad and batshit crackers.
Show PostIt's a perfectly acted moment. Now, of course - it comes back for two more series, with Reggie being Reggie again and everything only getting odder. And it's fine. But I love what happens here, in this episode, and i'm happy to believe Martin & Elizabeth sit happily on that sofa forever.
