Legitimately the most boomer nonsense ever (although I guess a bunch of these are older Gen-X). States have to fund services somehow and property taxes are a reasonably progressive, minimally economically disruptive, relatively easy to collect option to do so. Tax my house.

Go on threads and search "property tax" and you'll see a lot of people who don't like Trump and also believe "property taxes on a paid off home" are unacceptable. (What's extra weird to me is thinking property taxes are okay if you have a mortgage)

That is actually very sad. I have at some points in my childhood had no friends snd it was really hard, but to have no friends at all at that stage in your life is awful.
