We can walk and chew gum at the same time. I don't see what the issue is with wargaming tail scenarios and working out solutions for such cases, while keeping the diplomacy at the "business as usual" smile and nod setting. Seems to me that's exactly what the Carney govt is doing.

I think that's the crux of the problem because the US admin is such a fucking joke. You can argue that on one hand it's Lutnick, and no one should pay attention to his bullshit, but on the other he's part of that admin and he has the president's ear so how can you ignore his threats.
