I know this isn't an original observation, but it is absolutely WILD to me that in the last five years tech adverts have gone from aspirational futuristic cool to just outright saying "Oh my god, you're such a fucking loser, just get the computer to do everything you useless shit".

This whole tech sector, from the chatbots to the art generation to the voices, is built on this idea that being good at stuff is stupid and lame and somehow by not getting to enjoy the same praise skilled people do you are being denied or slighted

I was about to post that my dreams are weird and unexplainable lately but then I realized virtually every aspect of yesterday's dream is an abstraction of things going on in my life right now. I'm glad I didn't dream about my PhD. I already think enough about it during the day.
