@mmisumazigh.bsky.socialIn Kabyle we have a very similar word: Tameččimt which means a "dust bunny". The masculine form Ameččim usually means "snowflake" or "tuft of wool". Now I'm convinced that these words are related to Xeččew. Could it also be related to Aceččuy ("hair" in Kabyle) ? This was my initial thought.
Show Post#Awal_n_Wass Kabyle word of the day: >Xeččew (v.): to pull (someone's) hair. >Myexččaw (v.): to mutually pull each others hair, by extension to catfight.
Show Post... But this doesn't apply when the adjective is not "attributive", so you could say: "Is grammatica niet stom?" and not **"Is grammatica niet stomme?"
Show Post#Dutchposting Let me get this straight: CS definite: de grote man CS indefinite: een grote man NS definite: het grote boek NS indefinite: een GROOT boek PL definite: de grote boeken PL indefinite: grote boeken So, the uninflected citation form will only be used 1/6 of the time?
Show PostI am unbothered by the "stressed/unstressed" (?) pronouns because English does tons of things like that with pronouns, even if they are not usually written.
