As others have noted: "It" did not almost start a war. Reliance on it did. Abdication of responsibility where AI was involved is surprisingly common. See also: lawyers' briefs, students' homework, defamatory AI overviews, bad customer service info, gov. guidance, etc.

So funny to see the reasons other people chose to focus on particular languages, or not! When I chose Chinese back in 1994, it was because Egyptian was a dead language, the Chinese script was intriguing (plus much of China‘s politics & history a riddle) and Arabic seemed too uninviting for a woman 😅

Die Folge der @lagedernation.org zu #China fand ich sehr informativ. Vor allem die jährliche (!) Erhöhung (!) des Forschungsbudgets um 7%: das nenne ich zukunftsorientiert und #Technologieoffen. Ich fürchte: unsere „hocheffizienten Verbrenner“ werden Ladenhüter🤷♂️
