Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn by Tad Williams is underrated IMO.

Poppy War trilogy by R.F. Kuang also very good in an angry way Broken Earth trilogy by N.K. Jemisin was excellent Great Cities duology by Jemisin is maybe the best modern-era set fantasies I've ever read Kushiel's Legacy Trilogy is one of my all-time fave reads
Show PostThe Green Bone Saga by Fonda Lee was really good. Like, staring for ten minutes at nothing after the last page good First Law & Age of Madness by Joe Abercrombie also very enjoyable I'm in book 3 of Malazan, & that is a *FANTASY* fantasy (but the 2nd book is some of the grimmest grimdark I've read)
