I would think that anyone who graduated from a legitimate law school would know you can't call yourself a "lawyer" until you satisfy the requirements of a US State Bar Association.

You can play whatever semantic games you want. But when you go on TV and identify yourself as a lawyer or attorney but you never passed a bar exam, represented a client, appeared in court, or signed a pleading, you know you are intentionally trying to fool the audience.
