The generation that got to buy cheap houses thanks to a postwar construction boom, then blocked new housing construction to juice their asset values is now whining that they have to pay taxes on their unearned wealth. Just breathtaking selfishness.

My wife describes our boy as ‘very zen’ and she’s right. He’s calm and happy and rarely gets annoyed let alone angry. I’m hoping it helps him cope with life later on better then I did after always expecting trouble coming after my childhood. And that gives me great comfort.

I spent 18 years at the receiving end of my dad’s anger so I would say no. I apologise to my 9yo whenever I get angry at him & he laughs at me saying he’s never seen me angry. I know that’s not normal but I prefer it to my son having cortisol flooding his system which was my childhood default.
