just reminded myself of the actual chicanes on nicollet mall in minneapolis 💀 supposed to be a transit mall but it seems like it was engineered to make the bus completely suck at peak times. any attempt to unfuck it will mean bus users get another 2 years of shitty detours on detours

I spent the weekend in Denver and it was an absolute joy to walk up and down 16th St between Union Station and my hotel at the other end of downtown, with the buses on 15th within easy reach for the odd excursion. I wish the stars aligned so we could have that experience here on Nicollet.

the thing about this is that our DSA reps in portland have been pretty good overall when it comes to governance but they all need to be like 30% less online and 20% more professional
