It’s not a hot take. At all. Because I have talked to many folks who have confirmed it’s just “how things used to be”, but: Going out to a diner with a small group and talking is just as valid a way to interact in person with folks in the fandom as going to a convention, if not more so.

First drive in the Firebird! It's crazy how good this car feels. It feels like a brand new car. Smooth, quiet, not a squeak or rattle. Fire extinguisher with me just in case. Ya never know with stuff that has been sitting for so long.
