How does gene expression change during regeneration? Are specific enhancers activated or is there extensive genome re-modelling? Working with the team of Guillermo Orsi, we show that insect (cricket) and crustacean (Parhyale) genomes become re-modelled on a genome-wide scale.

The @sonnenlab.bsky.social discovered a functional role for oscillation frequencies in keeping the gut cells in balance. Our work is finally out! How do organs get the right shape and size on time? Using the zebrafish inner ear canal, we show that a mechanical feedback loop between the ECM and Yap1 drives timely tissue growth, and a built-in termination system shuts it down once morphogenesis is done.
