I have today been informed that, despite personal assurances to the contrary, the Green party have once again used my image and misrepresented my words on a second leaflet circulated in Gorton and Denton ahead of the by-election. I have now lodged an official complaint with the returning officer.

And here is what I had to say yesterday about the god-awful graph on this leaflet, a crime against data viz which they have made it look like I endorse.

Just a quick note to @greenparty.org.uk and @greenpartyhan.bsky.social - I was not consulted on being quoted on your leaflets and I have not endorsed your campaign (or any campaign in this seat). I think this note, like the bar chart next to it, is misleading and out of context.

We used to have 6 banks, nowdown to one and NatWest has told they plan to close in May. We will do all in our power to challenge this. @mathewhbenham.bsky.social @hacking4chorlton.bsky.social @jomidge.bsky.social @jeffsmithetc@bsky.social

That motion was carried. Now @jomidge.bsky.social and Cllr Shazia Butt moving an amendment to a motion tackling anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian racism, committing the Council to forming a working group that will set out practical steps. Motion amended and carried.
