Yeah that's a skill issue. I've bought manga and comics from independent artists who also didn't have $3000 They found a way to make it happen. Like, yeah budgets have a huge impact on projects but if you need a.i. to make an artistic work, you're not an artist. You just wanna sell something.

Oh and they were selling AI generated manga on their site too until people noticed and the owners quietly removed it. Same con owner’s defense of this: “I didn’t exactly have 3000 dollars lying around to make a manga”

Oh it gets even wilder because someone found their website was promoting this artwork (seemingly ai generated) for an upcoming game release that purports to have 40 season passes already planned, you can spend $350 now and save hundreds of dollars! The same folks who are too broke to pay artists.

The response also featured the convention rep saying “we had AI on our website and when we got negative feedback we tried to hire people to get the AI off the website but they didn’t wanna work with us because we used AI - oh so what, you’re an artist but you don’t wanna help us remove the AI…?”
