Place the gruntles of the disgruntled against the right of children to *decide if they want to be touched just now* and this isn’t even a debate. The children’s right to bodily autonomy tower over the transient wants of the disgruntled would be hugger. It’s not even a fine balance.

I'm actually more mad and upset than I thought I'd be. Consent matters whether you're 8 or 80. We can't say "oh be polite and not rude" and then question "why didn't you say something? Why didn't you say no, stop touching me?" I'm very upset about it all.

There are many, many reasons Jim O'Callaghan should resign immediately as Justice Minister (assuming we live in a Just world where people face the moral & ethical consequences of their actions) but all this feels like the last straw.
