Resident Evil was a cheerfully violent and knowingly dumb kinda zombie flick. It was perfectly how a video game adaptation should be, covering all the bases without being a hackneyed retelling of the story. It's not all that scary, more funny in gross ways. A pretty worthy Halloween classic.
