Absolutely, although if our ABGs are painful we can be doing them better. I wince when I think back to my 6am ABGs on the respiratory ward as a junior doctor without local anaesthetic. If we can put in arterial lines without pain we can do the same for ABGs youtu.be/-vvgB7x3YIM?...
