I think The Writer's Tale is one of the great works of elucidating the fucking anguished nightmare process of being a writer (or any form of creative), and I was hoping for similar introspection & insight here, but it just isn't there really. It all feels very surface.
Show PostFinished Russell T Davies' new book. It's pretty tame and - shockingly - quite boring. The most interesting & moving bits are about his navigating the illness & then death of his partner, rather than the telly stuff, which feels sanitized - weirdly so, given how /raw/ The Writer's Tale was in 2010.
