I gotta give my vote to the Oakland boys, but Roxanne is making it an awfully close call.
Show PostI hold no illusions about Billy's chances here, but this was EVERYWHERE when I was 9. It probably defines this era as I experienced it as an elementary schooler like no song in this poll yet. And it deserves to advance based on the lyrical gold that is "touch my bumper and let's make a deal" alone.
Show Posti assume tracy has to be safe, so my vote's for q in a fruitless effort to salvage her memory from being a footnote to derelict cinema history. the pasadenas are derelict themselves, chasing boomer nostalgia clout, and kariya is fine but ultimately just has the one speed.
Show Posti came in expecting this to be JJ Fad's group to lose, and while the Stetsasonic and Public Enemy records are both enormously important and extremely well-crafted, they're also both very self-serious and not nearly as much fun. (ice-t is just as self-serious but not as important or well-crafted.)
