There is much to admire in Abdul El-Sayed's response to the GOP plant in his audience. But one of the most deft things he did was to point out (twice) that our Constitution protects our right to follow *no* religion, thereby casting Christian nationalist Tommy as the actual religious extremist.

First, Thomas Teepell is not a voter. He lives in a different state. He was a political plant. Or, if you will, a paid protester. He is an agitator. Second, Abul El-Sayed responded with more patience than most people could muster. Calling him an angry, overly defensive jerk is you projecting.

As usual, I'm out on a short stroll around the neighborhood as unofficial town sorcerer. I left my bag of sorcerous goodies somewhere, so I don't have my usual supplies at the moment. I have brought my hand-embroidered flower cap, a lip balm, and a small tub of popcorn. Very small.
