"Separating art from the artist" is always a complicated conversation. But when an artist says they are going to use their art's proceeds to further hurt marginalized people, don't just believe them, SHUN THEM. The Trans community needs your support more than you need ANOTHER fucking Harry Potter.

I've shared this before, but it bears repeating: I am a community college dropout who didn't sell his first novel or screenplay until I was 35. Today I got my first Emmy nomination at the age of 49. We're all on our own path with our own timeline. There is no expiration date for writers but death.

There's no prescriptive advice for plotting/outlining as no two writers do it the same. Some writers don't even outline or plot in advance at all. So small daily word counts need to be coupled with how you personally outline/plot.

The most important thing in writing is to finish. A finished thing can be fixed. A finished thing can be published. A finished thing can be made into a movie. An unfinished thing is just a dream. And dreams fade if you don't hold on tight enough. So finish the thing.
