The fact that internet archive is able to do what it does on such a miniscule budget is already a miracle. It's a thankless job and these devs could go make multiples of their salary elsewhere. This is a labor of love for them providing a public service.

The replies here are just disconnected from the reality of modern web development in the last year. It would've been irresponsible not to use whatever tool they could to ensure uptime and fix critical vulnerabilities as fast as possible while attacks were being conducted.
