Unfortunately, those very same people are also at the head of SocMed plateforme and will defend their brethren. Yeah, the world is fucked. And I hate it. And we’re giving them even more power by accepting AI usage. And it’s only getting worse. Sorry for the doom and gloom answer.

Felt. I couldn’t stop opening the app. So I tricked my brain. I’m opening it, yeah, but I’m just checking the news on this one feed with like 10 people. That way I don’t have near infinite new content to scroll through before reaching something I’ve already seen. And I get bored enough to leave.

Which isn't to say that content on here is bad or unappealing or whatever, but I just don't need to be so interconnected that I am perpetually refreshing and looking for that next serotonin boost. Especially when I remember that social media sites are just excuses for free data that genAI can scrape

There's a reason I don't bother posting on here constantly, just check notifications or friends' recent posts every few days at most. Nothing on social media is providing me with information or entertainment that is so crucial that I need to be checking for live updates every few minutes or hours.
