But to be clear, a lot of consulting is in fact taking prefab analysis and solutions and repackaging them for the client. It’s why so much of the industry (or industries if you get into strategy vs. management vs. engineering) sucks. And financial incentives mean AI will probably make it worse.

As I was explaining to someone last week, unfortunately much of the perception of consulting both inside and outside the industry is you're there to take a prefab analysis and solutions kit and slightly modify it for your client. In reality, great consultants know how to ask good questions.
