And on that note about Joel... My most biased, wishcasty prediction is that he will have a reasonably healthy season for the first time since 2022-23. I predict 55-60 games played. He looked comfortable and fluid in the preseason. And the reduced offensive role should ease his load significantly.

BUT...I think this team will have a switch to flip in the playoffs. LeBron and Joel will up their activity level. VJ will be a maniac. And I think there's just enough to get through the Eastern Conference if the offense is as good as I think it can be.

I think they're gonna be bad on defense. And a big part of that is just how hard every team plays every night now. They won't have the stamina to compete on every possession. And their offense will be good enough, that they'll largely feel they can get away with it.

I'm a big believer in the offense. They had spellbinding stretches in the preseason despite trying all sorts of goofy stuff. When they dial it back a little, they should be elite. All the fancy cutting and movement might work. If it doesn't, just pick two guys and run empty side PnR.
