When it comes to early Monster Taming Games, Gameboy/GBC had a solid roster, but I feel like the PS1 was where it was at: MegaTen, Monster Farm, Digimon, Jade Cocoon, Azure Dreams, Monster Seed, Dragon Seeds, and other genre proximal games like Master of Monsters, Brigandine, Kartia, etc.

Illness - the worst feature of Qud. To cure fungal infection you will need to: 1. Mix obscure ingredients 2. Find a worm & kill it 3. Wait weeks till you are famished & can force yourself to eat a worm corpse. 4. Did I mention you need to buy a book? You can't look up the cure online, it's random.
