Lots moving over Stert Point this morning including 6 Snipe, 1 Woodlark, c120 Fieldfare, c3200 Redwing, 2 Brambling, 58 Siskin and 1 Yellowhammer. Along with Skylarks, Song Thrushes, Starlings, Linnets, Chaffinches, Greenfinches. #somersetbirding

A few distant crops of today's Leach's Petrel off Severn Beach. Never as close as some of these wave skimmers usually show here. Fingers crossed for the appearance of our first Wilson's Petrel, with one seen less than 25 miles away in Glamorgan this morning.

Today's birding started well with a Grey Phalarope at Huntspill sea wall. It quickly got very much better with this patch tick Red-necked Phalarope just around the corner!

Found this fresh juvenile American Golden Plover at Ruaig, Tiree today in the same Golden Plover flock as the long-staying Buff-breasted Sandpiper, although the Baird's Sandpiper has not been seen at Gott Bay since yesterday #BirdingScotland #PWC2026 @birdguides.bsky.social
