Today, I woke up and fumbled around looking for my glasses, something I've done pretty much every morning for the last 40 or so years. I shouldn't need to do that ever again, because this afternoon I'm getting Lasik surgery. It's a weird feeling.

The "Children of Time"-series by @aptshadow.bsky.social I only read with the small hiccup of "memory" before "ruin". So ... suddenly octopi and friendly assimilation-microbes. Book 1 has a special place in my heart for the scene of Holsten's tantrum over being awoken AGAIN in weird circumstances.
