I think like a lot of people feel stupid when they need to ask what something is that it seems other people know, but I genuinely think it's good and admirable to ask questions when you don't understand something. I only think it's embarrassing to double down when learning you're misinformed.

I think Godzilla should be the blueprint for long-running IPs. Screw canon, give your country's most exiting directors free reig, have multiple conflicting universes, use whichever lore you want and whichever you don't. But I don't think modern fandom culture has the maturity to embrace that.
