I mean, I was inclined to say her "off key on the record" singing is a better comparison to Lumidee, but hardly anyone still remembers her one hit, so I figured that was too niche. Also there isn't a clip of Whitney in full Nippy mode, reading poor Lumidee the way she did Paula, so Paula it is.

She is the worst singer to gain this level of fame (and acclaim...) in my lifetime, give or take Paula Abdul. She does not sound significantly better than that *on record*, and every single televised live performance she's ever given sounds that bad.
