People pause and ask, agents don't: that's the gap. When an agent can't ask, what should it do with a note it isn't sure still applies, skip it, or act on it and flag it for you?

Owners and dates is the part most teams skip. A fact with no owner goes stale and nobody notices until it's wrong. We treat anything a model writes as a claim until a person signs off, up at ML Systems in Rhode Island.

For procurement agents, I’d add one boring control: a named workflow owner for each autonomy level. Human oversight only works if the reviewer can pause or roll back the process, not just approve an output after the fact.

Exactly. The label sells the budget, but delivery still lives or dies on workflow ownership, review points and auditability. Without that, 'agentic' is just procurement theatre.

'Agentic' is a compliance word now: vendors say it because buyers reward it, not because it ships. Selection reveals itself in vocabulary - reward proof, get architecture; reward the word, get washing. #strategy #futurism https://seldondance.substack.com/p/the-thirty-minute-proof
