Happy #WorldBeeDay! 🐝 Here's a beautiful Fork-tailed Flower-bee - Anthophora furcata - trying her hardest to burrow into a hard wooden chair leg, to make her nest. She carried on for nearly 2 weeks before finally giving up and using the (easier) rotten wooden log we'd provided! #bees #nature

Another one for #WorldBeeDay. A female Ashy Mining Bee (Andrena cineraria) which we found inside the kitchen on Saturday (17th). Also affectionately known by some as the "Panda Bee" @thegreenjeanie.bsky.social @brigitstrawbridge.bsky.social

Puffin was mystified by the fact everyone assumed he was a sociable bird. He couldn't deny that he was good in social situations (his banter was top notch), but he much preferred his own company. He found other puffins both intriguing and exhausting. #puffin #extrovertedintrovert
