I don't see how it's any different from any other complaint about free software. The maintainers don't have to listen to you, but complaining that some software is written in C or doesn't have some feature you want is a mainstay of open source culture.

The replies here are just disconnected from the reality of modern web development in the last year. It would've been irresponsible not to use whatever tool they could to ensure uptime and fix critical vulnerabilities as fast as possible while attacks were being conducted.
